Gemmaine Walsh has been appointed interim Director General and Head of Government Communications. She leads the profession responsible for government communications across the UK Civil Service.

## A change in leadership

Gem has extensive experience in strategic communications, senior leadership and major project delivery. She was previously Director General for Government Communications Transformation, and will continue to lead that programme alongside her new role.
